I love this story and I’m sure it is only true because you have to be pretty eagle eyed to realise it.
Microsoft Outlook 10 launched this year and includes, as most programmes are starting to, the ability to link up with your social networks. Facebook, Twitter, LinkdIn; that kind of thing. Microsoft have called it the People Pane. It shows you status updates, new pictures, the usual bunk.
However! Sometimes your ‘friends’ on social networking sites don’t have an avatar/profile picture. In this instance, Microsofts’ People Pane assigns a generic silhouette figure to represent your ‘friend’.
Only a handful of people will recognise the silhouette. Here’s the back story.
In 1977 Bill Gates was arrested for a driving offence – something that he no longer has to worry about with his chauffer driven electric cars.

Now allow me to introduce you to the silhouette figure used by Microsoft in Office 10’s People Pane:
Can you tell who it is yet? Maybe this will help:
Whomever put this in Office 10 and got away with it is either an absolute GENIUS or very unhappy in their work and wanted a quick way out. I wonder if Steve Ballmer knows…?
