Sony just announced the first of its 3D TV’s to go on sale in Japan. Their new Monolithic styled Bravia is mouth-wateringly beautiful. Of course the $6,444 price tag is also eye-wateringly expensive and the 3D glasses (which work with shutter technology over an IR connection) are an extra $133, while the IR transmitter itself is $55. Meanwhile sitting too close to the TV will prompt a warning to sit back, and looking away for a long period of time will cause the TV to automatically dim itself, thus saving power. Clever use of face-tracking.
As beautiful as it is though, I may wait a while for the prices to drop!
